Antiquated Faith Systems
Long ago, religion was instituted to control the masses. Faith traditions centered around mythical figures and based upon superstition, ancient taboos and primitive rites of sacrifice are not functional in today’s world. Most of them attempt to shame participants into conformity by convincing them they are lost, broken or defective. We reject this characterization, and affirm the worth and dignity of all persons, just as they are.
Antiquated Faith Systems are an obstacle to unhindered living because they are based on superstition, not facts, and they require a person to accept a demeaning and degrading view of humanity. These beliefs affect the way we treat people, and erode healthy self-esteem. It encourages individuals to depend on a non-existent deity rather than learn to deal with their own problems in a healthy way. It also encourages the harmful phenomenon of tribalism.
